Summary

Nicci Beauvoir, a disillusioned New Orleans debutante, is about to find out. Planning and practicalities fill Nicci’s life until she meets and is seduced by a secretive artist named David Alexander. David finds his muse in Nicci and with his encouragement she begins to pursue her own dreams of becoming a writer. But when the real reason for David’s interests are discovered, the relationship is shattered-and so is Nicci’s heart. Turning to another man, Nicci fades to become but a shadow of the strong and resilient woman she used to be. Fate, and some very eccentric family members intervene to rekindle Nicci’s lost love.
