Eve Gaddy

When my daughter asked me why I write romance, I told her I love the happy ending. Life might not give people a happy ending, but a romance always does. I like reading books that touch my emotions, that make me cry and laugh. Those are the kind of books I try to write. Unlike many authors, I didn't know from birth that I was destined to write. I've always loved to read and I liked writing papers and poetry. But write an entire book? No way.

Or so I thought. One day, in my quest for the perfect job, I mentioned writing a romance. A friend--a romance reader, naturally--asked, "Why don't you just do it?" So I did, and I found the answer to my dreams. My husband realized I was serious sometime during my second book--probably when I totally forgot to pick up our daughter from dance class. He's been my main supporter ever since. My family has even forgiven my tendency to be obsessive-compulsive when I'm creating. And my husband and friends have grown used to my off-the-wall questions, but they're still trying to figure out what's fiction and what's reality. They know me well.
