Rona Sharon

I was born and raised in Israel, in a scenic town sprinkled with palm trees on the Mediterranean coast. My family was in the diamond industry, so we traveled a lot.

I learned how to swim in Spain, horse ride in Switzerland, water–ski in the Red Sea, hike in the Grand Canyon, and appreciate art and good food in Italy and in France.

I have been telling stories for as long as I can remember—a talent which earned me the honorary school title “Best Excuse Maker.”

It was never my fault that I was always late. Late to school, late to parties, late to piano lessons, but NEVER late to the dinner table! Traveling to magical kingdoms that existed only inside my head never distracted me from working up an appetite.

I was very fortunate to have been raised by an extremely well educated, multi–lingual, elegant, super encouraging, loving and nurturing mother, who introduced me to some of the greatest writers of all times: Louisa May Alcott, Mark Twain, the Bronte sisters, Jane Austen, George Eliot, Scott, Shakespeare, Dumas, Montgomery, Byron, Andersen, Oscar Wilde, and many others.

On my long and tortuous road to professional writing, I tried my hand at various hobbies and occupations:

Math and astrophysics, fashion designing, cooking & catering, acquiring an assortment of languages, soldiering (during my 2-year military service in the Israeli Defense Forces), accounting & economics (at which I majored at Tel Aviv University), teaching…and ultimately became a tax specialist in the Treasury Department!

But I didn't quit my night job–plotting, researching, and ultimately completing MY WICKED PIRATE. It was then that I had my epiphany: I decided to pursue my true creative passion–writing. Check out my FAQs to find out how I got published!

Today, I live in sunny Tel Aviv, surrounded by 3000 years of history and spiritualism that nourish my Muse. I enjoy visiting archeological sites, reading about anything and everything, plotting my next book, watching movies and documentaries on the History Channel, traveling around the world, telling my little nephew stories about knights and dragons and pirates, loafing on the beach and chatting with my disgustingly intelligent girlfriends, but mostly I love spending time with my family.

I would not have gotten to where I am today without their love, invaluable advice, and generous support. They are my true source of inspiration.
