Laura Tolomei

Italian born, I was raised around the world mostly in Nigeria, USA and India. Now I live in Rome, Italy, but Iím always open to moving around.

Before becoming a writer, I was an avid reader. I've read a great number of authors, Italian and English, mostly in fiction, but not only. I can name just a few of my favorite authors: Mrilylin French, Joyce Carol Oates, Philip K. Dick, Umberto Eco, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Margaret Mitchell, J.R:R. Tolkien, John Grisham, Herman Hesse, Giorgio Bassani, Elsa Morante, Lindsey Davis, Agatha Christie, Ellis Peters, P.D. James, Ray Bradbury, Truman Capote, Woody Allen, Robert J. Sawyer, Michael Owen, Somerset Maugham, Evelyn Waugh, Ian McEwan, Nick Hornby, Emilio Salgari, Rex Stout, Colleen Mccullough, Louisa May Alcott, Alexandre Dumas (father), Manuel Puig, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Erich Maria Rohme, Thomas Mann and many more.

I've been writing since high school, back in Atlanta, GA. Today, I write both in Italian and English, mostly fiction of various genres, from erotica -sub-genres fantasy, sci-fi, paranormal, contemporary- to mysteries up to plain ordinary life stories.

One final warning about me. You may not find too many info on the web under my real name. I prefer using a nickname Lalla Gatta, which fits my profile to a tee: Lalla is an affectionate diminutive for Laura and Gatta means cat in Italian.
