Mary Sanglante

The author is both a writer and an artist. She has been drawing frequently from her youth until now, for nearly half of a century. Her father was one of the most famous artists of the Soviet Union. She became a writer because she was an illustrator. She drew pictures for other writers, and she was often disappointed with the way the stories were told. So, she became a writer in addition to being an illustrator to put words with her pictures. It's been about a year since she wrote the novel that has been translated from the Russian (her native language) version into an English one, and she took the pseudonym Mary Sanglante.
