Lionel LaVergne

Lionel A. LaVergne was born in the small community of La Pointe Noir, Louisiana. Until he was six he spoke only French at home. In the first grade in the country school of Sweet Lake, Louisiana he learned English. The first story he read entranced him, opening his eyes to the power of the written word.

He joined the USAF in 1955 and four years later, after his honorable discharge, he moved to the Houston, Texas area. Reading has always been one of his passions, now writing has been added.

Owning and operating his own business for years he didn’t have the time to indulge this need to write.

After retiring in 2002 he found the time for this second obsession.

Today he lives in Spring, Texas with his wife Monna and Poco, the smartest dog in the world.
