Mary J. Dressel

My inspiration for this book was a quaint little Victorian town in Pennsylvania near where I used to have vacation property. That real town is Franklin, PA, but in my book, I refer to it as Enchantment. Each time I drove through it, I felt like something was calling to me. I kept repeating to myself that there was a story there, waiting to be written. So, one night in my little cabin in the Allegheny Mountains, I took out a pen and yellow notebook, and started writing my story.

It seems that ever since I was a child, I knew I would be a writer! I love having the ability to put my thoughts into words on paper for others to enjoy. In 1991 I received my Associate of Arts degree in Human Services, with a speciality in Child Developmen. Then, later I had post secondary classes in creative writing and photography, for fun.

Just over two years ago, I married the man of my dreams. Between us we have five children, three grandchildren, and a very large Chocolate Lab. For the last twenty some years, I've worked in elementary and middle school, until this year when I got laid-off. I loved working with the students all those years. I'm currently working on the the Sequel to Visions of Enchantment, two other novels, and short stories.
