Jeanne Treat

Jeanne Treat was born and raised in Western New York, near the shores of the mighty Niagara. The great-granddaughter of a Native American medicine woman, she also has ancestry from Scotland, England, and France.

To research this book, she traveled to Scotland to visit castles, seaports, and stone circles, and talk to local historians. To make it authentic, she investigated ancient earth-based spiritual traditions and spent time with their modern counterparts.

Dark Birthright will be followed by a sequel in early 2008. It is the first in a trilogy.

Jeanne has plans for a historical romance set in the days of the gold rush and a dark fantasy called The Wolfshifter Chronicles.

She has published in local and regional newspapers, anthologies, and magazines.
