All through my childhood, my currency was books. Unfortunately as I got older and life got busier, I stopped reading.
When I was thirty, I was in the hospital awaiting back surgury and my mother showed up with a handful of paperbacks. I read one book a day until I was discharged, needing the escape and laughter. Especially being faced with the thought that my surgury might cause the miscarriage of my twins. I will forever be indebted to Julie Garwood for making me laugh so hard I needed more morphine and for making me forget the constant fear that loomed outside those pages.
I didn't stop reading when I got home and in a moment of serendipity I remembered an idea I had for a book back when I was a sophomore in high school, sitting in the back of my French class. I knew I wasn't ready to write it, I had never written anything before, but it gave me the impetus to pick up a pen. And now, five years later, here I am, still learning as much as I can about the craft of writing.
I haven't written the book yet, and though there are a few out there who skirt my idea, none have duplicated it and I hope to start it one day next year.
Unitil then I have a few stories coming out soon with Phaze. An erotic romance steampunk and another a psychic historical erotic romance. In addition to that I have a contemporary erotic romance novella that's out looking for a home right now. I'll put up excerpts when I can.
And I forgot. The twins are now five. And we've added a few since then too.
