Editor Gavin J. Grant
Gavin J. Grant is the publisher of Small Beer Press and, since 1996, editor and publisher of Lady Churchill's Rosebud Wristlet, a twice-yearly small press zine. Originally from Scotland, Gavin moved to the USA in 1991. He worked in bookshops in Los Angeles and Boston, and while in Brooklyn, worked for BookSense.com, a Web site for independent bookshops. He lives in Northampton, MA, with his wife, the writer, Kelly Link, and is trying to balance freelancing, Small Beer Press, and renovating an old farmhouse. He reviews for BookPage and Xerography Debt and has been published in The Hartford Courant, Time Out New York, Scifiction, The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror, The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, The Urban Pantheist, Turbocharged Fortune Cookie, Full Unit Hookup, and . . . is this a cat? He also runs the KGB Fantastic Fiction Reading Series with Ellen Datlow in New York City. Fiction from LCRW has been reprinted in The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror and The Best of the Rest, and nonfiction in The Zine Yearbook. Small Beer Press books have been nominated for the Firecracker, Bram Stoker, Philip K. Dick, and World Fantasy Awards, and have been chosen as Best of the Year by Salon, Book Magazine, The Village Voice, Locus, and other magazines. In 2004, Gavin and Kelly were named the fantasy editors of The Year’s Best Fantasy & Horror annual volumes (St. Martin’s Press), where they work alongside long-time horror editor Ellen Datlow. |
