S. A. Martin

Shirley Martin, aka S.A. Martin, has always enjoyed reading, both fiction and non-fiction. Several years ago, she decided to try writing and began with short stories and essays. More ambitious, she wrote an historical novel, since history has always been a favorite subject and was her major at the University of Pittsburgh. Growing up in western Pennsylvania, she is familiar with its history and geography, subjects she has woven into her historical novel and her time travel romance, Dream Weaver. She sold her historical novel, High Wind Rising, to New Concepts Publishing and has since branched out to paranormal and fantasy romances. She loves reading and writing about vampires, time travel, and shapeshifters.

After graduating from college, she taught school, then worked as a flight attendant. This was an exciting job, one that gave her the opportunity to visit many cities. She married a civil engineer she met while based in Miami but had to quit her job since flight attendants then were not permitted to work after marriage.

After forty-four years of marriage, Shirley became a widow and now lives alone with her two cats in Miami Shores, Florida. She has three grown sons and two grandchildren. Besides reading and writing, she enjoys growing orchids and other plants. Walking is a favorite form of relaxation, and long walks often help get her through writer's block.
