Allen Abel

Allen Abel emerged from Brooklyn to become one of Canada’s best-known, most widely travelled and experienced journalists. Currently, he is a correspondent for the National Post, a contributing editor to Saturday Night magazine, a contributing writer for Canadian Geographic and Sports Illustrated (one of his articles for Sports Illustrated was included in The Best American Sports Writing of 1999) and a producer/writer for The Discovery Channel. Recently he was the CBC’s roving reporter in Australia during the Sydney Olympics, and he appears once a month as a feature host on “Hockey Night in Canada.” When Allen Abel is not travelling, he lives and writes in Toronto.
