Norah-Jean Perkin
Norah-Jean Perkin is the award-winning author of five published romances – three sci-fi, one paranormal, and one contemporary. A former newspaper reporter, editor and columnist and currently a freelance writer, editor, and writing instructor, Norah-Jean has had her share of thrills and chills in places as far-flung as Timbuktu, West Africa, and Sydney, Australia. Having just sent the last of her three children off to university (she pauses here to cry or cheer, depending on her state of mind), she continues to live in southwestern Ontario with her husband of 32 years. Today she gets many of her thrills vicariously at the Shakespearean theater on the other side of town. She also gets a charge out of watching actors practice sword play in the park, bumping into “Romeo” coming out of the drugstore, and watching “Lancelot” ride by on his bicycle. Norah-Jean has an honors degree in journalism from Carleton University in Ottawa. A former president of the Toronto chapter of Romance Writers of America, she is a three-time Golden Heart finalist. In 2004, she won both RWA’s Book of Your Heart Contest and Lories Best Proposal Contest for the as yet unpublished Love, Lies and Aliens. Alien’s Daughter, the prequel to Love, Lies and Aliens, was also a finalist in the Lories and in the RWA’s Book of Your Heart Contest. Norah-Jean has completed a total of twelve manuscripts and one partial. She hasn’t done much writing in the last year, and is anxious to get back to the characters she’s left cooling their heels somewhere in the depths of her computer’s hard drive. Her fondest wish is to write more, faster, and better. There’s always a new and fascinating story waiting to be told. |
