Alan F. Troop

Alan F. Troop is a published writer, poet and novelist. His debut novel, THE DRAGON DELASANGRE, a dark fantasy about a contemporary shape-changing dragon living off the coast of Miami, was recognized last year as "one of the top ten horror novels in recent years" by Booklist Magazine.

Paralyzed in a body-surfing accident in 1977, Troop remains an avid sailor. He is a founding member of Miami's Shake-A-Leg handicapped sailing program and has designed modifications both for the program's boats as well as his own wheelchair-accessible catamaran.

He lives near Ft. Lauderdale with his wife Susan and their cat. On the days he doesn't work, write or sail on Biscayne Bay, he often travels to visit his grandchildren.
